Dear Supporter,
This Carers Week (8thโ14th June), Headway Sussex is recognising and celebrating the incredible contribution of unpaid carers across Sussex.
Every day, carers provide vital support to loved ones living with brain injuries, stroke, neurological conditions, and other health challenges. While caring can be rewarding, it can also be emotionally, physically, and mentally demanding. Many carers put their own needs aside as they focus on supporting someone else.
At Headway Sussex, we understand that carers need support too.
Through our support groups, information and guidance, and community connections, we aim to ensure carers have somewhere to turn when they need advice, understanding, or simply the opportunity to talk with others who understand their experiences.
This year’s Carers Week theme, “Building Carer Friendly Communities”, reminds us that no carer should feel isolated or unsupported. By creating communities that recognise carers and value their wellbeing, we can help ensure they receive the support they deserve.
If you are caring for a family member or friend affected by brain injury, please remember that your health and wellbeing matter too. Taking time for yourself is not a luxury โ it is an important part of being able to continue caring for others.
Throughout Carers Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every carer in our community. Your dedication, compassion, and resilience make an enormous difference every day.
If you would like to find out more about the support available through Headway Sussex, please get in touch with our team.
With best wishes,
The Headway Sussex Team ๐
