Good Afternoon,
This week is Trustees’ Week 2025 (3rd–7th November) — a national celebration of the people who volunteer their time, experience and leadership to help steer charities across the UK.
You can find out more here: https://trusteesweek.org/
At Headway Sussex, our trustees are central to everything we do. They guide our strategy, protect our values, champion our clients, and help us stay focused on what really matters. We simply could not deliver our support for brain injury survivors without them.
A heartfelt thank you
To our existing trustees — thank you for your dedication, expertise and compassion. Your time, skill and wisdom have directly supported our mission and shaped our services.
We are also delighted to share that in the past year, we welcomed three new trustees — Ian, Sue and Antonia.
Each brings an impressive wealth of experience and a fresh perspective, and each has already made a positive impact. We are thrilled to have them on board.
Why trustees matter
Trustees play a vital role, from governance and oversight to championing inclusion and strengthening our impact.
Their voluntary service (often behind the scenes) ensures that we remain ethical, safe, strategic, focused and effective, freeing our teams to deliver direct support to survivors of acquired brain injury.
Looking ahead
With our trustees’ continued support and leadership, we are excited for the year ahead and everything we can achieve together.
And as we grow, we are always interested in hearing from people who would like to explore becoming a trustee with us.
If you (or someone you know) has skills or lived experience that could strengthen our board — we’d love to hear from you.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating our trustees this week.
Warm regards,
The Headway Sussex Team 💙
