A Night to Remember: Illuminating Futures with Field Fisher

Last night, we had the pleasure of attending Field Fisher’s Illuminating Futures event, a joint fundraiser for both Headway Sussex and Headway Milton Keynes. The event was a huge success, thanks to months of hard work and dedication from all involved, especially our amazing supporters, Claire Glasgow, trustee for Headway Sussex, and Dushal, trustee for Headway Milton Keynes. Back in January, they brought us the idea for this joint fundraiser, and we’re thrilled with the results!

Why This Event Matters

Brain injury is a cause that’s close to Field Fisher’s heart. As one of the leading personal injury solicitors in the UK, they have a deep understanding of the life-altering impacts these injuries have on individuals and their families. Their dedication to supporting brain injury survivors goes beyond the courtroom. For the past two years, Field Fisher has been our charity partner, generously funding Headway Sussex’s Helpline and Call Back Service—critical lifelines for those in need of support.

Without their funding, these services would simply not exist. We cannot thank Field Fisher enough for their ongoing commitment and support.

The Power of Art: A Silent Auction and More

One of the highlights of the evening was the silent auction, where both Headway Sussex and Headway Milton Keynes clients contributed stunning pieces of artwork. Each branch presented five pieces, which reflected the creativity, resilience, and talent of brain injury survivors. These works of art were more than just beautiful—they told powerful stories of recovery and hope. We were fortunate to work closely with Field Fisher’s marketing team to create a beautiful brochure showcasing the 10 pieces of art. Our wonderful volunteer, Jill, took the time to write life stories for each of the five artists from Headway Sussex, adding a deeply personal touch that brought each piece of art to life. You can view these inspiring artworks and read the stories behind them in the brochure here [insert link].

Personal Journeys That Inspire Us All

In addition to the auction, two of our colleagues, Sam Shephard and Kate Mellor, stood up to share their personal journeys with brain injury. Their speeches were deeply moving, as they spoke candidly about the challenges they faced in returning to work and the crucial role Headway played in their recovery. Their stories were a powerful reminder of why events like this matter—because every penny raised helps people like Sam and Kate rebuild their lives after brain injury.

The Night’s Success and Looking Ahead

We’re thrilled to share that we are close to reaching the £4,000 mark in funds raised from the event! These funds will go a long way in helping us continue to support brain injury survivors and their families, offering them the tools, resources, and care they need to move forward.

The evening was filled with more than just fundraising. Guests enjoyed a lively quiz created by a client from Headway Milton Keynes, a delicious buffet, and flowing drinks—all set against the stunning backdrop of London Bridge from Field Fisher’s offices. The atmosphere was one of celebration, connection, and support for a cause we all hold dear.

Our Gratitude

We want to extend our deepest thanks to Field Fisher for their unwavering support and for hosting such a fantastic event. A special thank you to Claire and Dushal, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the night was one to remember.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended, contributed artwork, participated in the quiz, and donated. Your generosity has made a meaningful impact, and the memories from this night will last long after the event.

We look forward to continuing our journey of support and care for brain injury survivors with all of you by our side.
