George Ide Solicitors prepare to stride out for Headway Sussex
We’re fortunate to have some wonderful fundraisers at the moment and the team at George Ide LLP Solicitors in Chichester are gearing up for a 17 mile sponsored walk for us next month. They’ve set themselves an ambitious fundraising target of £2000 between the team of 25 members of staff, partners and friends.
They’ll be setting off from Washington on Saturday 25 June and walking east finishing early evening at Ditchling Beacon. Their fundraising has got off to a great start and they’ve been getting together for some practice walks already.
Their aim is to raise much-needed funds to support those with brain injury and their families. They recognise how we are a much-needed lifeline for many and do an incredible job supporting people in their communities with a brain injury. It’s a cause close to their heart, with their teams helping those who have sustained life-changing injury.
Why the George Ide Stride? Paul Fretwell, partner and Head of Personal Injury says the following:
I am proud to be part of the George Ide LLP team walking 17 miles along the South Downs Way on Saturday 25 June 2022, raising funds for Headway Sussex (HS).
I have been a personal injury solicitor for almost 32 years. Throughout my career I have represented and supported those with traumatic brain and other life-changing injuries and their families. I have always had a great love of the outdoors, and I enjoy walking, running and cycling through our beautiful countryside. We are so lucky to have the South Downs on our doorstep.
Having been part of George Ide LLP’s previous sponsored cycle rides in support of local Headway, it seemed the obvious next step (as it were) to put on our walking boots and head back out to the Sussex Downs for the George Ide Stride.
I have always been greatly inspired by my brave and determined clients and their loved ones. I have learned many important life lessons over the years, inspired by those who have garnered strength from adversity. I try to take nothing for granted, make the best of each day, and help people as I would wish to be helped.
In September 2021 I had the fantastic experience of walking up Ben Nevis with an amputee client of mine and his partner. I am delighted that they will be part of our team for the George Ide Stride.
For me, our team walk represents a great opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, share experiences, meet old friends and make new ones, especially from within HS and, of course, to raise much-needed funds for a fabulous cause.
I hope the weather is kind but in any case, come rain or shine, I am sure we will have a brilliant – and very worthwhile – day to remember.
