Headway Sussex at the Newick Christmas Tree Festival

Headway Sussex were pleased to be invited to take part in the Newick Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church last weekend. It’s a lovely community event raising money for two well deserved organisations. Clients and staff enjoyed taking part.

It certainly was a team effort getting the decorations ready. Our woodworking teacher and clients cut silhouettes of Christmas trees and baubles, with pre-drilled holes for ribbon to hang them up. Clients were keen to get involved in painting them in festive colours and decorating them. Individuality was certainly expressed on the decorations which we hope you will agree look absolutely fantastic!

The lovely tree, donated by Laura Ovais-Smith, took pride of place in the church along with other local community groups and businesses. We took a couple of groups of clients down to see the finished tree and all the others on display. The money that was collect will be shared between St Mary’s Church and St Peter & St James Hospice.

Whilst we weren’t voted in the top three favourite trees, we send our congratulations to Newick Pre School, Newick Bonfire Society and The Crown Inn. We now have our tree back at our centre in Newick for clients, staff and visitors to enjoy too.
