We’re delighted to share some wonderful news that’s already transforming lives here at Headway Sussex.
Thanks to funding from the Percy Bilton Charity, we’ve been able to purchase six new tablets, along with bone conduction headphones and height-adjustable floor tablet stands—making this equipment fully accessible for our clients, including those who use wheelchairs.
For individuals living with the long-term effects of brain injury, everyday tasks can become overwhelming.
Relearning how to live independently takes time, patience, and support.
That’s why access to digital aids is so important.
Our dedicated hub and outreach support workers are now using these new tools to help clients:
-
Set alarms and reminders for medication and appointments
-
Join video calls with family to reduce isolation
-
Use budgeting and banking apps to manage their finances
-
Access brain training and memory games to support cognitive recovery
-
Explore tools like speech-to-text to aid with communication
-
Listen to music, which can be calming and stimulating
-
Play simple games that support coordination and focus
It’s wonderful to see the boost in confidence and capability that these tools can bring. Whether it’s the comfort of a favourite song or the accomplishment of setting a daily reminder, our clients are reconnecting with the world around them—on their own terms.
This wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you, and the generous grant from Percy Bilton.
Thank you for believing in our work and in the potential of those we support.
Best Wishes
The Headway Sussex Team
