Introducing our Interim Chief Executive, Ian Foster

Following Jennie Musgrove’s departure from the post last month, Ian is currently the Interim Chief Executive . Our thanks to Jennie for seeing us through the difficult months of the pandemic and we wish her well in her future roles.

Ian is no stranger to Headway Sussex having been on the board of Trustees since spring 2021. He has personal experience and understanding of the issues faced by people living with a brain injury and their families and carers. His wide professional background is in environmental and public health education and promotion. He is an expert trainer having designed and run courses and programmes to improve health services and health practice in the UK and overseas. Ian’s work across health and social care includes project development in mental health, homelessness, HIV and Aids and community out of hours services. He has been a committed and long term volunteer and advocate for development of Headway services and supports the Eastbourne Living Well Support Group. He is involved in community life in Uckfield, particularly in music and has performed in musical comedy productions for over 45 years.

Commenting on his new post, Ian says

I’m honoured to be asked to hold the reigns for the time-being and I’m here to keep moving us forward, ensuring we have a bright future ahead. My priorities will be to look after our clients and staff, building a strong base to grow and extend our services across the county. Funding is crucial to achieving these aims so thank you to everyone who has run, cycled, walked and got creative for us and thank you to all of you who have donated to our cause.
