At Headway Sussex, we are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after a brain injury. We provide life-changing support to empower our clients to regain independence and confidence — and now, we’re looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our growing team in Brighton.
Make a Difference in Someone’s Life
Living with a brain injury can be challenging, and many people need support to navigate everyday life. Our Support Workers play a crucial role in helping clients with cognitive and social rehabilitation, encouraging them to rebuild their confidence and reconnect with their community.
Unlike many care roles, this position does not involve personal care. Instead, you’ll focus on helping clients develop life skills, engage in social activities, and build strategies to manage their condition more independently.
Why Work with Headway Sussex?
We know that to give the best care, you need to feel valued and supported. Here’s why joining Headway Sussex could be the right step for you:
✅ Competitive Pay – £12.83 per hour
✅ Flexible Working Options – Full-time and part-time positions available
✅ Brighton-Based Role – Work in a vibrant and supportive community
✅ Rewarding Work – Help people reclaim their lives and build a better future
✅ Comprehensive Training – Full support and guidance to help you succeed in your role
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need prior experience with brain injury support — just a desire to make a difference and the right personal qualities:
💙 Compassion – A kind and understanding nature
💪 Patience – The ability to support clients at their own pace
🗣️ Strong Communication – Listening and encouraging clients to express themselves
🌟 Adaptability – Every day is different, so a flexible and open mindset is key
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Support Worker, you’ll:
-
Provide one-to-one and group-based support sessions
-
Encourage clients to take part in social and community activities
-
Help clients develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills
-
Work closely with our team to track progress and adapt support plans as needed
Be Part of Something Bigger
Headway Sussex has been supporting people with brain injuries and their families for over 35 years. We’re proud of the positive impact we’ve made — and you can be part of the next chapter.
If you’re ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while working in a supportive and rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you!
