What is ABI Week?
Every year, Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week provides a vital opportunity to shine a light on the real-life experiences of people affected by brain injury.

At Headway Sussex, we’re proud to stand with Headway UK and our community partners to raise awareness, promote understanding, and push for change.

This year, ABI Week runs from 19th-25th May 2025, and we’re inviting you to get involved in helping us support brain injury survivors and their families right here in Sussex.

🧠 Raise Awareness
Brain injury isn’t always visible. ABI week plays a crucial role in reducing stigma, promoting understanding, and driving real support for those affected.

During ABI Week, we will be sharing powerful stories from clients, families, and supporters to highlight the physical, cognitive, and emotional impacts of brain injury – and how support can make all the difference.

🎯 Theme for 2025: On a Good Day
This year’s campaign highlights the fluctuating and unpredictable nature of brain injury.
Many people can appear well “on a good day,” but behind the scenes, they may be managing daily challenges that others don’t see.
We’ll be sharing stories from our own clients across Sussex to show how variable recovery can be – and why compassion and tailored support are so important.

📣 Advocate for Change
Headway UK will be using this week to call on policymakers, health professionals, and local leaders to prioritise better access to rehabilitation and long-term support.

Together, we can create a more inclusive future for people living with brain injury.
