💙 Congratulations to our amazing colleague, Kate! 💙
We are so proud to share that Kate, our Hospital Liaison, Staff Training and Volunteer Lead, has been named a joint winner of a Local Hero Award, presented by the Community Champion at Morrisons during Disability Pride Month.
Kate’s dedication goes far beyond her role at Headway Sussex. She combines her professional expertise with her own lived experience of acquired brain injury (ABI) to support people and families when they need it most. Alongside this, she also volunteers with Air Ambulance KSS and is involved in many other initiatives raising awareness of brain injury.
Kate said:
“Delighted to be one of the joint winners of this Local Hero award run by the Community Champion of our local Morrisons for Disability Pride Month. It reflects the work I do for Headway Sussex (including bringing my lived experience of ABI) and also my volunteering work for Air Ambulance KSS. Plus the various other brain injury things I am involved in outside of work too.”
Kate’s compassion, dedication and commitment inspire us every day, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
