It’s National Volunteer Week!
From June 3-9, 2024, we are celebrating the incredible contributions of our volunteers who make such a significant difference in the lives of our clients.
Today, we are excited to introduce you to our newest volunteer, Phil, who now leads our music class on Fridays at Newick.
Phil is a retired company director with a remarkable 50-year career in the musical instrument industry. His musical talents are as diverse as they are impressive—playing guitar, saxophone, bass, and ukulele in various semi-professional bands over the years. He continues to share his passion for music, performing in a guitar duo to this day.
Phil’s saxophone skills have shone brightly in The Big Kahuna, a local soul band known for bringing joy to weddings, parties, and corporate functions with their vibrant performances.
We know that music can have profound benefits for our clients with brain injuries, helping to enhance cognitive function, emotional well-being, and social interaction. Phil’s extensive experience and passion for music make him a wonderful addition to our team, and we are thrilled to have him on board.
Volunteers like Phil are essential to the success of Headway Sussex.
We are deeply grateful for all our amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to support our community.
Their commitment and generosity enable us to provide vital services and programmes to those in need.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for celebrating National Volunteer Week with us. If you see Phil around, be sure to give him a warm welcome!
Best regards,
Headway Sussex
