International Owl Awareness Day

Hello!

We’re excited to share some heartwarming news from our recent activities in honour of International Owl Awareness Day, celebrated annually on 4th August. This special day aims to raise awareness about owls, their unique habits, and the importance of protecting these magnificent creatures.

On Friday, 9th August, Steve from National Trust: Sheffield Park delivered an engaging and informative owl talk, followed by a fun Quiz.

The event was a great success, with our clients gaining a deeper understanding of these fascinating birds and how we can contribute to their conservation.

Thank you National Trust: Sheffield Park!

But the celebration didn’t stop there!

Our clients also took part in a meaningful woodwork project, building a Tawny owl box for the National Trust: Sheffield Park.

This project was not only a token of our appreciation for the National Trust’s hard work but also a wonderful opportunity for our clients to contribute to the local community and environment.

Woodworking is a vital part of our rehabilitation program, offering numerous benefits to our clients with brain injuries.

Engaging in such creative and hands-on activities helps improve cognitive functions, enhances fine motor skills, and provides a sense of accomplishment and purpose.

Projects like building the owl box are particularly special as they allow our clients to give back to the community while continuing their own journey of recovery 🦉.

We’re proud of the positive impact our clients are making and the strong relationships we’ve built with organisations like the National Trust.

Together, we’re not only supporting wildlife conservation but also fostering a nurturing environment for our clients’ growth and well-being.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with us.

Kind Regards
