Art and Brain Injury: Creative Sessions Making a Difference

At Headway Sussex, we run regular art sessions for people living with the effects of brain injury. These sessions offer real therapeutic benefits.

Art can support recovery in practical ways. It helps with coordination, focus, and memory, while also offering a way to process difficult emotions. Many of our clients find it easier to express themselves through art, especially when speech or writing is challenging.

Taking part in art can also improve mood, reduce anxiety, and provide a sense of achievement — things that can make a big difference when rebuilding life after brain injury.

The work is varied, personal, and often very powerful. We’re proud to provide a space where people can connect, explore, and continue their recovery with support.

If you’d like to know more about our sessions, refer someone, or get involved in supporting our work, please get in touch.
