Headway Sussex visits Newick Primary School
Local school children from Newick Primary School help raise funds for Headway Sussex
We’re always keen to get involved with local communities and recently we were invited to Newick Primary School to talk to the children about brain injury.
We spent the morning talking about what the brain does, how it can get injured and how this affects a person if it happens. The children then made paper brain hats and posters for a ‘Hats for Headway’ fundraising day. They also heard from Richard a client with a brain injury who comes into Newick and Ian Foster a charity Trustee whose son has a brain injury. Finally the children got to play Just Bowls, a game that challenges hand and eye co-ordination. Many of our clients enjoy playing this for the competitive side and laughter.
Our thanks to everyone at Newick Primary School who made us feel welcome and we hope they enjoyed their ‘Hats for Headway’ fundraising day. All donations help us to keep reaching people living with a brain injury. If your community group can fundraise for us, please get in touch.
