Jane’s 14-mile challenge raises over £1,500 for Headway Sussex! 💙 From survivor to supporter – Jane’s incredible journey

Good Afternoon,

On 29th December 2020, Jane’s life changed forever when she suffered a brain aneurysm. Thankfully, due to swift medical care, she survived with a manageable brain injury but her journey didn’t stop there.

Jane attended a Headway Sussex evening support group for people with brain injuries, where she learned, shared, and connected with others facing similar challenges. It reminded her of her own work in the NHS during the 1990s, helping to set up one of the country’s first brain injury day services in partnership with Headway.

Inspired by her experiences, Jane set herself an incredible challenge: walking 14 miles from Worthing to Brighton on 2nd August 2025, to raise funds for Headway Sussex. Thanks to her determination and the generosity of supporters, she has raised £1,313 plus £246 in Gift Aid — exceeding her original target!

Your support helps Headway Sussex continue to provide information, support, and services to people with brain injuries, their families, and carers. Together, we empower people to regain independence, connect with their community, and rebuild their lives.

💙 If you haven’t yet donated, there’s still time to support Jane’s effort and make a difference: https://www.justgiving.com/page/pier-to-pier-promenade?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL)

Thank you, Jane, for helping us support brain injury survivors across Sussex.

Kind Regards

The Headway Sussex Team
