Jubilee celebrations in Newick

Ahead of the official weekend celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee, clients, carers, trustees and staff enjoyed getting together for an afternoon tea in Newick.

Clients, carers, trustees and staff enjoyed a Jubilee Afternoon Tea just before the bank holiday celebrations kicked off last weekend. With changeable weather, we moved inside at the last minute and staff decorated the centre with wonderful red, white and blue bunting made by Paul Reid’s wife Jean and the tables were arranged with flowers from the garden and named after royal residences. They even found the china crockery to really set the tables off.

Everyone enjoyed fruit scones, freshly whipped cream, sticky strawberry jam and plenty of pots of tea and coffee. We listened to classical English music and spent the afternoon chatting. It was a wonderful atmosphere all round and a great way to start the long bank holiday weekend. Clients were joined by a very special guest for a photo opportunity and everyone made the most of having their picture taken with her too!
