Strengthening Our Community Together: Headway Sussex and National Trust at Newick Gardens 🌳🌱

Hello,

I wanted to share a touching story about how our local community has come together to make a real and positive impact on the lives of our clients here at Headway Sussex.

Over the past few months, we have had the privilege of hosting multiple working parties from the wonderful team at National Trust: Sheffield Park.

Their dedication and hard work have transformed our Newick gardens, providing a beautiful and tranquil space for our clients with brain injuries to enjoy. And the best part? The work isn’t done yet! These incredible working parties are ongoing, continuing to breathe new life into our gardens.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this partnership so far has been the focus on our once-overgrown beds. These areas, which had become neglected and difficult to maintain, have now been revitalised thanks to the collaborative efforts of our volunteers from National Trust: Sheffield Park. Their energy and expertise have turned these wild patches into lush, blooming spaces that offer peace and calm to our clients.

We have included some before and after photos to highlight the incredible transformation. These images truly capture the impact of this community relationship—not just on our gardens, but on the well-being of everyone here at Headway Sussex.

This partnership is a testament to the power of community.

By coming together, we’ve created a space that supports healing and recovery in a peaceful, nature-filled environment. We are so grateful to the team at National Trust: Sheffield Park for their continued commitment to our cause and look forward to further collaborations in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story. It is partnerships like this that show how much can be achieved when we work together.

Warm Regards,

Headway Sussex
