Volunteers’ Week: Thank You for Making a Difference 💙

💙 Celebrating the End of Volunteers’ Week 💙

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank every single volunteer who gives their time, skills and compassion to Headway Sussex.

Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. They help us support people living with acquired brain injuries across Sussex, providing practical assistance, friendship, encouragement and opportunities for people to rebuild confidence and independence.

From welcoming clients at our day centres and support groups, to helping with administration, fundraising and awareness-raising, volunteers make an incredible difference every day. They help create safe, supportive spaces where people can connect with others who understand the challenges of living with a brain injury. They assist with activities, offer a listening ear, support our events and help us reach more people who need our services.

Many of our volunteers bring their own experiences, professional skills and unique talents, helping us strengthen our services and extend our reach throughout the community. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.

If you’ve been inspired by Volunteers’ Week and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! 💙

Some of our current volunteer opportunities include:

📋 Admin Support (Newick based)
🗣️ Talks & Presentations Volunteer (booking and delivering talks)
🎉 Ad-hoc Fundraising & Events Support
🤝 Client Support at our Brighton Hub (Tuesdays)
💬 Eastbourne Support Group Volunteer (1st Wednesday evening of each month)
📞 ABI Navigator Volunteer – providing telephone support and befriending to people living with brain injury

Have a particular skill or experience you’d like to share? Let us know! We’re always keen to hear from people who want to make a difference and may have something unique to offer. 🤞🏻💙
