🎨 Celebrate Creativity with Headway Sussex This September

This September, we’re celebrating the creativity, talent and determination of our incredible clients with not one, but two exciting art events!
Art plays an important role in the lives of many people we support at Headway Sussex. For people living with an acquired brain injury (ABI), creative activities can provide much more than an opportunity to make something beautiful. Art can support confidence, self-expression and communication, while helping people to develop new skills, focus on a task and enjoy a sense of achievement.
Our art sessions also provide a chance to socialise, build friendships and, perhaps most importantly, have fun. Every piece of artwork represents time, creativity and effort from the person who created it – and we’re incredibly proud to share their work with our wider community.
🎨 Artwave 2026: 5th–20th September
We’re incredibly proud to announce that Headway Sussex will be taking part in Artwave 2026!
We’ve teamed up with Seasons Wholefoods in Lewes and author-illustrator Sophie Bresnahan, who have both been wonderfully supportive of our work and our creative journey.
Artwave is one of Sussex’s fantastic celebrations of creativity, with 176 free-to-visit exhibitions taking place across the Lewes District.
For us, one of the highlights will be seeing our clients’ artwork and installations displayed at Seasons Wholefoods in Lewes from 5th–20th September.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase Headway Sussex merchandise and make a donation in store or online. Every donation helps us continue providing vital support to people living with acquired brain injury and their families across Sussex.
So, if you’re visiting Lewes during Artwave, please pop into Seasons Wholefoods, take a look at the incredible work created by our clients and show your support!

☕ Lindfield Arts Festival: 26th September
We’re also delighted to be returning to the Lindfield Arts Festival!
Following an incredibly successful exhibition at the festival in September 2025, organiser and artist Hilary Kennett has kindly invited Headway Sussex back for another year.
On 26th September, we’ll be showcasing lots of brand-new artwork created by our talented clients, who work hard on their creative projects every week.
Our clients absolutely loved being part of the festival last year, making it a fantastic opportunity to once again celebrate their creativity and share their achievements with the local community.
Come along, enjoy the artwork and show your support. You might even find a piece of Headway Sussex merchandise to take home with you!
And, of course, there will be plenty of refreshments available too, including tea, coffee and freshly baked cakes prepared by our talented staff. 🍰☕

📅 Saturday 26th September 2026
We’d love to see you at either (or both!) of these wonderful events.
By coming along, enjoying the artwork, buying some merchandise or simply spreading the word, you’re helping us celebrate the abilities of people living with brain injury and showing our clients that their creativity, achievements and voices matter.
Thank you to Seasons Wholefoods, Sophie Bresnahan and Hilary Kennett for helping us make these opportunities possible. We’re so excited to share our clients’ incredible artwork with you! 💙
Kind Regards
The Headway Sussex Team
