Fundraising spotlight on Sadjad – in training for Headway

Last year, as with so many other charities, we were incredibly disappointed when the London Marathon was cancelled, after having secured a place and the fantastic Sadjad to run it for us and raise much needed funds for the charity.

But, we’re extremely pleased to say that the place has been transferred to this year’s event on 3rd October 2021 and we can’t wait!

We promised to keep you updated and are hoping you’ll join us in supporting us and Sadjad as he prepares for the big event. We caught up with Sadjad to find out how his training is going:

“Here is an update on what’s been happening with me!  Unfortunately I sprained my ankle recently which meant I had to put my training on hold for a while and rest the ankle.  However, I’m pleased to say that it’s now healed so I’m slowly getting back into my training programme.

Before the injury I did a couple of 20-mile runs which went well, but now I’m just doing short runs and will build back up.  I’m concentrating on keeping healthy generally, and also doing some cycling.

Although the weather has turned colder, I don’t mind and still enjoy going out for my runs.  My other news is that we re-opened the seating area at work (Costas in Crowborough) after the November lockdown and were very busy – it was great to see customers back again. Stay safe everyone!”

We can’t do what we do without you, so if you’d like to support Sadjad in raising money for Headway, please visit our Virgin Money Giving page.
